Need some opinions on what I should pay
Found a cart that looks like what I need
I believe it looks like a 01+ txt by the shift cable and steering looks pretty hacked up but also has potential as nothing looks ruined he has a motor for it, its out of it and doesn't work he's asking 800 which is way to high problem is its 250 miles away so going to look at it before buying is 8hrs worth of driving for nothing I'm posting pics let me know what you would pay and your opinion keep in mind I'm sure there is some pieces missing and whatnot end goal is lowered 3in throw my 350 pre mci engine and use it as a 2 seater golfer |

Re: Need some opinions on what I should pay
If you already have an engine and want a stock height cart, I would think you could find one locally for way less than $800. You would be paying extra for a lift kit and wheels for the one you show. I would think you could find a cart like that for your motor for less than half that about anywhere in Florida.
Just my 2 cents. |

Re: Need some opinions on what I should pay
I don’t know about finding one for way less but maybe closer to what you want
As a parts cart it may very well be worth $800. Transaxle, fancy wheels, fairly straight body, frame (if he hasn’t hacked it up),etc... but that motor probably needs a new crank since he left it exposed by leaving the oil filter off so no credit for that but it might have a good head or exhaust manifold. The secondary clutch salvage will be expert level so no credit for that... maybe he has a usable primary which ain’t worth much...unless you’re looking for one... But... it IS a golf cart... and about the year you’re looking for and not having any idea of the availability of gas carts needing a motor of about the right vintage in your area I really couldn’t make a suggestion because I could see going either way... but I’ve been known to take on projects that I probably should have passed on But if I was sittin on a good pre-MCI 350 I would definitely want a project worthy of it |

Re: Need some opinions on what I should pay
I'd pass as well. That's way too much for a cart with a junk motor that's been exposed to the elements internally for who knows how long.
I also see rust under the battery tray, rear shock towers, cross member behind the seat. I'd bet underneath has some pretty heavy rust damage as well and the secondary clutch is seized. Needs a lot.of body work and paint, but that's to be expected. Thats a pretty hefty price tag and needs an awful lot of work for a used up cart with no motor. I've bought running carts for less. |

Re: Need some opinions on what I should pay
Check your local cart dealer. Most have a graveyard out back and I'm sure they would have an ezgo without a motor back there for cheap...
I've still got the rear half of the engine cradle if you need one. |

Re: Need some opinions on what I should pay
i had a whole one with a bad Robbins engine not long ago. As good as the one in the photo, no lift, factory wheels. I sold it for $150. Maybe I sold a bit cheap but not far out of line.
