Bypass Governor?
I just purchased a 1986 Gas EZGO...
The governor cable is broken. Is there is a way to bypass the governor? Thanks |

Re: Bypass Governor?
On those old 2 stroke the governor pulled back on your throttle input. If the cable is broken it's as bypassed as it can get.

Re: Bypass Governor?
Wow, that is strange. This thing is so slow that I could get off and walk faster. I assumed it was because of the governor.
I checked the throttle cable and it is getting full throttle. Anyone have any ideas as to why it's so slow? Thanks |

Re: Bypass Governor?
The throttle default to wide open. Throttle cable holds the carb shut at rest. As you step on the pedal it releases cable to let the carb go open. If you're getting full travel and still have no power it's time to start looking at fuel path, vacuum, compression. Possible problems with the crank seals, reed valves or fuel pump.
