1990 G1 Conversion
Recently purchased a G1 cart with no engine , want to swap in a princess auto 420 cc engine I believe it’s a 1 inch shaft with a key way what would I require to get this swap done the diff is intact but I don’t have any other pieces

First thing you need to know is that you will not have reverse when doing this swap. The G1 cart is a 2 stroke cart that the engine actually runs backwards to get reverse. There is no reverse gear in the transmission.
With that said, yes, you can install that engine. You'll need: 1. Engine 2. Drive/Primary clutch for 1" straight shaft crank 3. Driven/Secondary clutch with stock spring for a 4 stroke Yamaha cart 4. Battery and cables 5. Key switch and wiring 6. Engine mount, you'll have to fabricate 7. Drive belt I'm sure I'm missing something. |
