unfortunately, that's pretty much what I expected to see. Not much in the way of saving that head.

If you're comfortable rebuilding, I'd consider tearing apart the bottom end and seeing if there's any damage down there. It may be all right. A new head and some other parts and could be back in business. One of those parts being an oil pressure gauge...

If you're not comfortable or there is damage in the bottom end, may be time to cut your losses. I put a 15hp Lifan motor in a TXT for around $1000 with all the parts and everything included. It doesn't run or drive like a stock cart anymore... still fun, but very different. You may or may not be open to that option but it's worth considering.

I'm on a waiting list with motors and more. I discovered tonight with head off as the pistons would go down, one piston was able to be pushed down, so a worn rod as well. I thought about a engine swap but I've spent a little bit on buying parts that only work on stock engine, plus this cart is only for campground use at slow speed. Just needs to haul a few people and cooler around.

How long did Motors and More tell you it would take and would they take your engine for core ?

About 4 weeks. Yes they will as its rebuildable, just takes extra machine work. I called other places, they primarily slap ring and gaskets and go. They send major work off and dont do in house.
