Oil issues
Noticed oil on engine and under cart so I put a piece of cardboard under it to try and pin point leak but oil drops over a 2 foot area so it must be spraying out somewhere and dripping from multiple locations any help on where to begin troubleshooting this would be appreciated thanks in advance

Re: Oil issues
I cant think of any way to know for sure without disassembling but Im going to bet crank seals. It gets slung everywhere. Is it fan side or clutch side or can you tell?

Re: Oil issues
Could simply be just the oil filter o ring.
When anything leaks on these, it pools in the cradle under the motor and when it drips to the floor, it drips everywhere. Only way to know for sure where is to pressure wash it all clean, then clean everything with brake cleaner, and blow off with compressed air. Run it for no more than a minute or two and see where it's coming from. I'd almost put money on the oil filter o ring. These engines aren't common for leaks unless they've been taken apart. |

Re: Oil issues
Is the oil in crankcase under pressure? Because there is oil on areas above the filter

Re: Oil issues
Yes, but there is a big fan that blows things everywhere. Oil pressure can be 70+psi at cold start. Lot of pressure for these little engines!
Valve cover gasket is also known to dry out and leak. But truly, you won't know until you clean everything REALLY good and source the leak |

Re: Oil issues
Same thing happened to me a few weeks back, sprayed oil....looked all over, thinking it was coming from a blown seal somewhere.....1/2 turn on the oil filter did the trick! But the sprayed oil keeps corrosion under control under the cart!!! hahaha
