SGF, I have also used the small oval 55wts on many an application. I do not however use the wiring that comes with them. Too small IMO. A 55wt 12vt bulb pulls just shy of 5 amps so two would be 10. I just don't think the wire that comes with them is heavy enough. It maybe overkill but I use a minimum of 16ga and also use a relay. Makes life easier on the switch. As for light, they put out a good amount.
