You have to remove the electrical tape wound aroud the wires so you can trace the wirings to the proper connections. In the first frame, the thing on the left is the voltage regulator. The connections appear to be correct. The one on its right is the igniter. The orange left most wire is connected to the live wire from the solenoid (that's okay). The red wire next to it should be connected to the ignition coil. Ignition coil should be grounded (I don't see the ground). That green wire connected to the fan shroud is a puzzle to me. If that comes from the VR, that should be connected to the DF of the starter gen. The right most wires (red and blue) go to the pulsar. That should now give you a spark.

that's a3pg engine. on the carb you do not want the clear hose if it is the correct carb. if you look closely, there is a small hole in the side of the little brass piece. this is your vent and it must be open. don't know why they send that with the carb. just installed the same one. the 2pg does use a hose tho. if that does't fix your prodlem then you have a stuck float. just drop the bowl and check.

go to top of this forum and find the sub forum "gas tech". go to the post with gold stars and you will find a troubleshooting guide . that engine was used from 89-93 on ez marathons.

this one was just rebuilt.
