Re: fuel pump not working .
Missing or cracked, loose pulse line.
pulse line full of fuel is a ruptured diaphragm. |

Re: fuel pump not working .
Do the simple stuff first. Has the tube inside the tank fallen off? Is the fuel filter blocked?
If this checks out then either the pump is shot or the crankshaft seals are worn. You can remove the pump but it can be hard to see a hole in the diaphragm. If it is split the cost of a new pump is slightly higher than a repair kit so you may as well buy the pump. |

Re: fuel pump not working .
My experience is yes. One day it works and the next it is dead. That said, the pump needs the crankcase pressure oscillation to make it work. If the seals are shot you will have the same symptoms. You cannot see the front seal but you may be able to see if the rear is leaking by looking behand the clutch with a lamp and a mirror.

Re: fuel pump not working .
When you replace them apply a generous amount of 2 stroke oil to the inner rubber surface and I like to apply a bead of Loctite Blue bearing sealant to the outer metal edge.

Re: fuel pump not working .
Will do AND THANKS again . As I started taking the drive clutch off I noticed up and down movement in the crank . Is there a bearing on the crank that iI need to replace ? And if so is it a good idea to put a crank kit in it while its apart?
