New Jakes Upper Brush Guard for 08 ST Sport II
Hey guys, Just wanted to share what I did for my cart this weekend. I had the stock top on my ST Sport 2, and I've been wanting a tougher looking sports cage/upper brush guard when I came across a great deal on ebay on a new Jakes Upper Brush Guard for $250 plus shipping. I could have probably never made myself pay the $500 they normally go for, but this deal was too good to pass up. I figured I'd post a pic of the before and after for those members who have the same cart that are thinking about a new sports cage. I'm pretty happy with the new look, and I'm planning on getting a fabric top made and trying to reuse the stock windshield with some billet tubing mounts I've seen online.

Re: New Jakes Upper Brush Guard for 08 ST Sport II
One reason I wanted to get rid of the stock roof supports was my overhead raido console. It looked cool, but functionality was terrible. I had a pretty good Clarion marine head unit and 2 6.5inch round kicker marine speakers in the overhead unit, but no matter what it would rattle and the cd's would skip. Most of my riding is on old dirt roads and trails for hunting/fishing. With the Jakes Upper Guard, I don't have all that rattling noise anymore. I am planning to relocate the cd player somewhere on, in, or around the dash. Haven't really decided where to put it yet.

Re: New Jakes Upper Brush Guard for 08 ST Sport II
Is the total height more or less than the original top. I was thinking of getting one but I need to know the height. I have an enclosed trailer and it must be less than 6.5' tall. What is the measurement from the floor board to the top of the roll cage at its highest point?

Mine measures six feet, seven and three quarter inches. It is the same height that the stock roof was on my cart. I have a 6 inch lift on a 2 inch lift from the factory.

Looks good. Interesting way the made the back mounts.. Couldn't do that with mine because the seat back comes up with the seat..
Here is a pick of the one I helped my bud Blake80 build. Cage is now gloss black, just haven't gotten pics yet. |

B, check out the pics above. Rear mounts if attached to the factory seat back uprights would be much less of a pain than mine were. Still would take some tricking bending.
