Lights wiring issue 2002 club car ds
Guys sorry for keeping with the questions, I decided to start a fresh knew post,
I already tried to search the forums but no luck, My cart is a 2002 club car ds I have a question the cart had front headlights when I got it I added 2 tail lights I wired all the positives together and all the negatives together which are wired to the original cables that were on the battery and hooked up to the aux switch. Now when the switch is on the on position all lights work, when I switch it to off position safety fuse blows.. Originally with headlights only it had a 15amp fuse now that I have head & tail lights do I need a higher amperage so that it does not blow?? I tried running direct with no fuse, What happens is it works but when I turn the switch of it sparks the wires and looks like it will burn if I don't remOve, What do you guys think I need to do???? Could I have them mix up only two are connected power and ground..??? Also where is the 12v connection on this cart? |

you have to have a voltage reducer to get to 12 volts if the cart dosn,t have one.....if wires from lights are running to batteries they might be running off of 16 volts.....grab a meter and test where lights are wired.................

Shadowman your fast lol
Ok I'll check, but trying to not get into a reducer, Is there any chance the cart has a 12v hook up? What's weird is that the headlights worked perfect on the exact connection it was only until I put in the two rear lights I started to have the issue with fuse and wire smoking, |

try disconnecting the lights you hooked up see if that helps, if i,m not mistaken i think but i could be wrong that the keyswitches are 12 volt even though they sell them voltage specific but wait for someone who knows more about them......other than that if theres no voltage recucer than theres no 12 volt anywhere..............................
