A 3 inch section is removed from the frame just behind the shock tower. holes are drilled through the frame to accomodate the Z-Plates, and the front nose is re-attached to the front of the Z-Plates. This pushes the front end forward about an inch, and lifts the car enough to clear 22X11X10 tires with no rubbing.

Very interesting discussion. We make both styles of lifts. Here is the instructions for the Z-Bracket kit we make. This should help you guys with knowing what is involved to do this type of lift. If you have a saws-all it's not hard to install. In the end it comes down to what you the customer wants to do. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Tahoe, thak you for your reply... I understand your arguments and can appreciate them, however, I still cringe when I think of cutting the frame...... but I will no longer sneer at the Z-lift in the manner I used too......

Wow . . great instructions . . but definitely a job for experienced person . . . not a weekend project for an amateur it seems . .
