Default Battery Meter error

Puchased a 36V battery meter Analog, but when I connect the wires to the first and last battery, the needle fliips to charging, even though I am not charging it. Am I missing something?

What does the instructions say about possible aligning needle? Some are adjustable and others you get what you pay for in quality? I see some of the cheaper analog meters that will show clear over into charge area when pack is recharged 1-3 hours afterwards. Put digital volt meter on pack and mark on face of meter where 38.22 volts ( full charged ) on meter is located.
