Default Motor stud issues and benifical hindsight

Living here in Port Orford Oregon The rust capitol of the pacific North west!!
I am used to dealing with rust and corrosion still yet sometimes It happens:

I'm changing over a 92 club car to electronic controller. In the process of removing all the old wiring and bed springs ect. The stud on the motor rotate and brake loose the feild conection inside the motor.

I used a wrench on the lower nut and a socket on the top nut *MISTAKE!*

Best to begin by snuging up the bottom nut then use 2 wrenches so you can watch and be sure the stud does not rotate

Removed the motor and disasembled it found the broken connection which appears to have been welded the stud. Now the stud looks to be copper but is magnetic (steel) not sure if I wanna try and solder this back togeather, Im afraid if there is any resistance it will get hot and melt the solder. anybody solder this with success?
or know of a clamping style stud to replace the busted connector?
