you can hook it up direct also and eliminte the 2 wires, i think if on all the time its only gonna draw millavolts after looking at it but as mentioned waterproof and condensation might be an issue.......wonder if theres a way to seal the back up to at least try.......for the price i can grab several and play with them to see just how far to push it........................

Tom, I sealed mine from the front and back but the circuit board on the backside was still exposed even though it was INSIDE the dash. You will be better off just getting "1" Datel, installing it and forgetting about it once done. They preform flawlessly

Thanks Scuba as well as everyone else. I'll install my $7 meter for now, and when it craps out, I'll replace it with the datal. I don't drive in the rain and the cart is garage kept, so condensation isn't a real concern for me. The co. states that the meter is designed for "marine" use, so I figured it should have been appropriate for my use as well.

I'll post pics when the install is complete.

Steve

Here are the pics of my meter installation: I also installed a rotating on/off switch, so I can turn the meter off when I don't want to use it. The cart had had two wires behind the dash that I used for the pack voltage, and I found 12 volts in a plug that was part of the wiring harness. The pics of the wires are to show you how I made my connections, not the completed job. I used my Sperry meter to calibrate the panel meter (tiny screw on the back). I left the meter on for 24 hours to make sure it was working.

Thanks for all the help, everyone
