Re: safe method/order to remove/replace batteries?
no particular order...
but here are some safety/helpful tips: use insulated tools to avoid shorts across posts, remove all jewelry (watches, rings, necklaces), i wear protective eyewear when making connections, take a picture prior to removing old batteries, if batteries came with protective caps, leave those on until you are ready to install the cable. good luck! -sj |

Like he said put the cart in Tow if it has a run tow switch, Disconnect the battery mains first and reconnect them last. I like to do the battery hold downs before the cables...Then wait 30 seconds and flip the run/tow to run if you have this switch on the cart.

Re: safe method/order to remove/replace batteries?
take your time and if your uncertain do 1 at a time, take one out put one in.........disconnect your pos from #1 battery 1st than the neg from #6 use some duct tape to cover ends up just in case and follow advice about rings, watchs, ect. and insulated wrench.......you can tape most of the wrench up or a good dip in liquid rubber.......make sure you cable them right pos to neg.........and make sure you put charge wires back in proper place...........when done make sure you follow the break in procedure for them.....above all just take your time...........................................

Re: safe method/order to remove/replace batteries?
I know one at a time is the safest way to insure correct position of the batteries but it's no guaranty they won't get reversed.
I suggest you make a drawing of the batteries and show every wire & cable connection on it.... Then take all the batts out and clean and repair the trays as needed..... even repaint them, then put the new batteries in like a pro |
