Default AC Power

I'm there are several threads on this but I will ask anyway. What are the goods and the bads with AC power? Is it worth the expense?

Yea, you have to have a generator or a really, really long extension cord!

From what I have read: You will gain torque and efficiency. The motor is brushless and may last longer, but I can't confirm that. I'm sure it's gonna cost ya around $3000.00 to make the upgrade.

I say spend around $1500 for a fast motor, 600 amp controller, HP solenoid and 2 gage wires instead. The money you save will buy you 10 years of batteries!

This kit goes for 2500 installed.

http://www.golfcarttrader.com/Electr...Club%20Car.htm

Not sure how good it is compared to this one for 2900

http://www.golfcarcatalog.com/catalo...d=1873&id=5638

But that one you have to install yourself. And reading thru the page it doesnt seem like they are going to be there for customer support.

if you do not have a reasonable knowledge of electricity as well as mechanical skills, this kit may not be your cup of tea. In which case, you'll want to seek out a reputable and knowledgeable shop in your area to complete the installation for you. We do not have the margins or this item, nor the man power to provide unlimited technical support on this installation. It comes with great instructions and is not rocket science to install, but it is involved. For the price listed, you will receive one free hour of technical support via phone, or e-mail. Anything above and beyond that level of tech support will be pre-paid in advance by the hour at a rate of $65/hour, which is our standard shop labor rate.

Been thinking about this for next year as well
