over greased primary
Ok.obviously didn't know any better until I found this sight.I just greased it tonight with about 4 or 5 pumps. So now what I have already driven the cart back to the course cart shed. What should I do to ensure I don't cause anymore damage than I already have. This is a 1999 g16.

Re: over greased primary
What kind of damage have you done, I greased mine the other day and have not taken it out yet. Not sure how much went in 2-3 pumps, was not aware you could damage with too much lube.

Re: over greased primary
You probably didn't do any damage as long as your belt and clutch faces aren't covered in grease. Just clean up any excess and keep it off your belt and you should be ok. It normally only takes one or two pumps of grease.

Re: over greased primary
Read my post "New guy here did I do something stupid" I did the same thing and there is great advice. I had a hell of a mess to clean up since the cart wasn't going anywhere. I flung the grease every where, and I mean every where. Acetone and a rag will be your friend!! Oh, and a shot or to of Simple Green

Re: over greased primary
I think we've all done this before at one time or another. All you can do and try and clean it off best you can. I've used carb cleaner before to get it off my belt. Wipe down the clutch and shaft best you can. Did you over grease the primary or secondary? The primary you can pull the cover if needed. The secondary, just wipe it down best you can and check it again after running it slowly for a while. Nothing like getting grease all over your belt, airbox, and that real nice grease line going from underneath your seat all the back. I've done it too!
