Default G14 Body Removal Problem

OK, so first off, why don't I see much on G14's here? Seems to be many others, but not much info on G14's. Did I buy the red-headed step child buggy? Anyways, my buggy is stock with rusty bolts so I've been taking it apart. My plan is to do a little body work and paint, replace rust with SS bolts, add a lift and wheels/tires, flip flop rear seat and stereo/speakers. So, I've pulled the top, front, seats and was trying to take off the back half of the bodywork. My problem is the last two screws in the rear that attach the body to the frame. They are in the "trunk" area. They just turn and turn like there is a nut on them. But when I look under the cart there is no nut. I can't get them out to take the body off. Any suggestions??

Couple of other questions: Is there any reason to go with a long arm vs. spindle lift? I will mainly use the buggy around my property and kids love to drive it. Also, wheel/tire size preference for a 6" lift? Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I'm new to this. Thanks for any help...

They may have clips on them, like a car uses. If you can't get to the clip to hold it then you might have to drill it out.

G14 are on here might be a slow week for them or something, but fairly common model. You will see a lot of G2/9 and G1 posts here because they made a pile of each and they are older and cheaper so people buy and mod a lot of them.

A double arm lift will be nicer than a cheaper (spindle/single arm) lift, dual arms work better they are similar to an atv front and should have more travel as well. You can put atv shocks on them to get more out of them because that is the limiting factor then. Beyond that a LT lift is going to be better yet and often come with new (different than stock) shocks. What you need really depends on how rough and how fast you ride, each step up is better. A minimum lift is ok for putting around while a dual arm is nicer for rolling down a trail with a better ride. You almost need a LT lift if you put a larger engine in a cart and run offroad or it gets hard to handle.

Far as tires the 20" work for small lifts but I'd recommend 22s to start with. Much better selection and atv tires are way tougher tires. If you can fit larger on your cart its up to you 23-24 is not a bad way to go. If I did it again I would try to get 25s on but G9 require some work around the rear to fit them and I didn't do it. You do loose torque so with stock engine it may hurt it more but will go faster too. With a larger engine it matters much less, if you plan to ever put one in. But on a G9 you need to cut and weld to go over 22-23 depending on what tire you use and the 22 work great.

You can also put atv shocks on the smaller lifts and it helps the ride, but you don't have much more than stock travel so only so much help is possible and why a better lift does more. I welded up the arms on my G9 and made them longer when I lifted it in 99 and moved the shocks, so it has more than stock travel. It has worked pretty well but with the new 15hp clone engine in it I can see it should have more.

If I remember correctly g14s were only made in 95 and 96. Most of the others were made for more years. I have a g14 it runs great when the gas doesn't gum up the carb or melt the pick-up tube in the gas tank.
Good luck
