Default real yamaha clutch?

just got a good deal on a new clutch for my g16 this is a brand new takeoff i took the cover off & the insides looks totaly different than my old factory g16 clutch my question is this a real yamaha clutch? did they change the clutch design over the years? will it work the same

That is the new Yamaha clutch used on new Drives. Very similar to the G2/G9 clutch

Looks similar to G9 but weights are huge and one piece instead of the sandwich design of the G2/9...that failed though to be fair it took a long time.

Thanks for posting a guts photo! As CGtech has said this is supposed to be the new yamaha primary clutch that would retrofit older carts also. If you buy a new one from yamaha now you should get this one. Back to a yamaha clutch after all the issues with the Team clutches. It looks HD and simple, which is good. For driving a stock cart around you could not beat the yamaha built clutches IMO.

The sheave to gen belt offset looks much larger compared to a G2/9.

And you are right, it is. These don't just retrofit due to this. But the sliding portion will slip onto your existing fixed sheave.

Really? Wow that is sweet, don't even have to remove the clutch then to replace, splines are the same? That would be like a 5 minute upgrade, the steel sheave never seems to wear anyway.
