2016 EzGo 48v TXT Fleet Solenoid not activating.
Thanks in advance for your help. I have a friend down the street that has a Model: TXT FLEET Elec 48V. Date Code is: C2116 and Serial Number is: 3168637.
He pulled into his driveway last week and cart would not move after that. He called me to look at it and it has turned into a project for sure. Here are the specifics on what I have found so far: Pack voltage is 50.4 and batteries about 16 months old. Solenoid will not engage with new solenoid installed. However it was an “ebay special” Key switch has continuity and power. Micro Switch removed and has 50.1 positive on red wire and 50.1 on white when closed. Plunger trigger boss is adjusted correctly. Charger Port was bypassed with no change in solenoid. F&R switch 50.1 power on forward and reverse. Continuity to controller (grey wire) was good. Continuity to controller (orange wire) good. Continuity to controller (green wire) good. (grey wire went through 4 pin molex (?0 connector and transitioned to double red/black wire (I think color is right). Controller 16 pin connector was back probed with following results: Pedal Box showed 50.1 V, Key switch showed 50.1V, Back up buzzer showed 50.1, F&N switch showed 50.1. Across solenoid showed 50.4 from pack voltage and 49.8 on controller post. I strongly suspect a bad controller since a ground does not seem to be present to engage the solenoid. Here is a pic of current controller. Curtis TXT Fleet Model: 1206HB-5201 which I suspect is original to cart. Below is controller I am recommending to him. What is the approximate delivery time if you have this controller in stock. Again, thanks for your help. I am looking at item #9. These carts have issues with a sonic weld of power wires in the loom just in the front of the controller. Check all the wires coming back to the controller to make sure the voltages are there.

Think I got them all (see where I probed in my post). Let me know if I missed anything. Thanks.

If you have a handheld you might see something in the error logs or monitor page.

Don’t have a handheld. Friend was able to get an OEM replacement controller from golf shop from an upgraded cart. Put it in late yesterday and no joy. Solenoid not clicking. However did notice a different in headlights. Previously headlights were bright and now very dim. Also noticed what I considered excessive sparking with test leads. Thinking a hot ground possibly.

Re: 2016 EzGo 48v TXT Fleet Solenoid not activating.
No. That is part of your problem. Not the wiring but the adjustment of the cam and the microswitch. The microswitch has a bent lever and the plunger to the ITS is way out of adjustment.
The way this arrangement is supposed to work is the microswitch is supposed to be a normally closed contact arrangement. The switch lever holds contacts open by the plunger to the ITS. When the pedal is pressed, the plunger moves forward toward the ITS and the microswitch roller falls off the plunger and becomes the normal (Closed) contact arrangement. It appears the plunger is adjusted improperly. At the proper adjustment the ITS will begin to generate a signal to tell the controller to begin to supply power to the motor. Just before this occurs the switch lever should fall off the cam. |

Thanks. I should have noted that was the before picture. We adjusted it so it is on the boss just toward the rear. Thanks.
