Sorry NEWBYLEE i didnt see this before now. Our G16 did the same thing. I bent that tab out so that it wouldnt happen again. I Know how it was because as soon as we would step on the pedal it was wide open and there was no in between. A little trick to get more throttle is in your picture of your gov. un hook both cables and hook them direct with a small zip tie but dont pull the zip tie so that the cables touch. I did this to our cart 3 years ago and its still working with the same zip tie but i always carry a spare tie.
