pre 88 marathon front cap
Yeah, I'm looking at parts for my 84 and would like to use the 88-94.5 front plastic cowl cap with the headlight cutouts. Does anyone know if the front ends changed in 88 or is it just something not offered on pre 88 marathons by the factory?

88 was the first year i believe for the cowl cap. It wasnt one any of the older ezgo's.

The older carts had longer leaf springs than the ones with the cap so i dont know if your front suspension would stick out beyond the cowl.

Re: pre 88 marathon front cap
This forum is amazing. I am going to look at a fourth cart that doesn't have a rubber cap and was curious if if it was an 87 or older. Question ansered. Thanks everyone!!

Re: pre 88 marathon front cap
Interesting observation... shouldn't cause interference though. I think I'll take a chance on it fitting. Saw some 88 marathon photos and the cowl still looks like an 84.

They bolt on the same but the new marathons had shorter springs thus keeping the front axle under the cap. Try it. I guess if it doesnt look right or you dont like you can always sell it.

Re: pre 88 marathon front cap
We have been using the earlier front springs on the 88-up carts,it definitely improves the look of the cart when its' lifted, the wheels don't look shoved into the footwall. The springs are 2" longer on pre-88 carts. The entire cowl will have to be changed, unless you are capable of doing the metal-work to modify the cowl to accept the nose-piece.Hope this helps.
