Another pre mix ratio ?
Sorry to beat a dead horse but I've read a lot of posts about pre mixing but none could really answer my ? When I got this cart it didn't run and oil pump and tank were gone and I knew that when I bought it but forgot to ask what ratio he was running in it before it quite. What I don't want is a lot of smoke like a 2 stoke dirt bike or quad so what ratio should I go with? I'm not going to be beating on it to hard but wide open throttle sounds good at times
Sorry to bring up the subject again and I'll be running 5 gal at a time |

Re: Another pre mix ratio ?
Why doesn't run? if it has some internal issues I would start at 40 or 50 to 1.

Re: Another pre mix ratio ?
I agree. You obviously need to address the running issue, and you can experiment with oil mixes, but Doom is right, start on the high end as far as amount of oil. Try one of the synthetic "one mix" types that have a stabilizer, they are usually a 50:1 and it will be ok.
Yes, this has been beaten into the ground. But there are still people with their opinions. I'll give you mine..... For racing/high rpm use = 50:1 For spirited driving, off roading = 85:1 For campground use, slow riding = 100:1 For slow riding with governor = 120:1 Keep in mind....ALL of the aforementioned mixes contain MORE oil than what the factory oil injector provides, which is 150:1 under load, and 300:1 at light throttle (as per the manual). I've been using 85:1 for over 2 years on a basically brand new engine. I fully disassembled it recently and it has almost no wear marks, you can still see the cross hatching from the factory hone on the new cylinder. |

Re: Another pre mix ratio ?
Well I need a starting point of a ratio to fire it up this weekend. The fuel pump went bad causing a no start and the brushes in the starter generator are going bad. I'll put a gal of 40:1 in for first start up so I can confirm the fix

Re: Another pre mix ratio ?
No, almost no smoke at all at 85:1. At 50:1 I was fogging the skeeters in the yard, lol! At 100:1 no smoke whatsoever.
