Trouble with charging
I am having an issue with my approximately 30 day old icon i60l charging. All of the sudden As soon as I plug in the built in charger it trips the breaker. Haven't added anything new to the cart or changed anything in my garage/power supply. I did w a wash the cart about a week ago but that's the only thing I can think of.
I tried plugging the cart into another outlet on a separate circuit and it immediately tripped that breaker (I did have to use an extension cord for this outlet). I also tried plugging in other things aside from golf cart in these outlets and they worked fine. Any ideas? |

Re: Trouble with charging
What gauge extension cord are you using? I use a 12.
Is it on a GFCI circuit? Can you take it to another house, preferably a friend, and see if it trips there as well? |

Re: Trouble with charging
Hopefully your electrician can figure it out.
This article might be of help: https://www.golfstorageguide.com/why...pping-breaker/ The other technical thing that could trip the GFCI (I'm told) is a large momentary surge that can happen when applying a voltage to a capacitive load. It's the same reason the contactor has a pre-charge resistor across it. So the contactor doesn't spark and weld itself closed. The motor controller would be the capacitive load in that scenario...doesn't make sense though. |
