At this time I decided to just fix it and use it this winter and do a upgrade this coming summer, I ordered a new forward/reverse switch, few copper cable connectors and only wire really melted is the one coming off the micro switch

Anyone have a wiring diagram for a 87 club car by chance ?

Sounds like a good plan

Should be a wiring diagram in the sticky section of this forum.

Diagram shows 2 wires and I found them for the key switch but the red/white throwing me off because it only goes right to the first battery on the passenger side

Got me… if you know where it begins and ends, I’d leave it be. Maybe hook it to pack negative, and run a voltage meter off the key switch and make some use of not having to run wires I’ve got one I got on Amazon for like 8 bucks and it works great. My caroche came with a much nicer one that I can custom program the “fully charged” at 38.2v and I set “0%” at 36.3v for a more accurate gauge/percentage without overdischarging the batteries, and a little extra headroom.

Was thinking about it till I trace the wire, if the front headlights are from the factory I’m thinking the red/white wire is ground for the headlights
