Default How interchangeable are the bodies?

I did a search because I cant be the first person to have this question....but nothing that I saw seemed on point.

My question is this....
How interchangeable is my 1981 DS with later years and style bodies?

Can I use any OEM Club Car DS body from any year and not have to mod?
And can I also use bodies from other styles, as well as years without having to mod?

When I say mod..I am not referring to a small hole here or a bolt there. I am talking about having to fabricate adapters to make the change...or something equally in-depth.

I am wondering...instead of repairing the front cowl, just to then have to hunt for headlights that fit.....maybe I should just keep an eye out for a later generation and possibly a different style cowl.

It depends on what yours looks like. Some of the real early DS had a “DS looking” cowl but it mounts more like a caroche. Some had a fiberglass version of the DS cowl with regular DS frame mounts. If you can upload a pic we could tell for sure.

If it’s the later style frame, any DS body should mount right on. If it’s the earlier style it may be a bit more involved

Thank you for the info. Sorry, it took a little while to respond but my job has me on odd hours.

I am guessing that you wanted a picture of the cowl?
I already have it off the cart.
Here are a couple of pictures of the cowl and one of the front with it off.
As I said, this is a 1981.

Many Thanks!!!!

I think you’ll be fine, any newer body from a DS should pretty much bolt right on.

I understand the work hours. I just got home from work myself :)
