the controller is factory set to cripple the otherwise available performance. tricking the controller into thinking the motor is spinning slower than it really is allows you access to the speed your cart is capable of had CC not locked it out. its not voodoo, as-seen-on-tv sprinkled w/pixie dust, its a simple hardware hack to a factory coded software limitation.

I just made on of these its a divide by 1.5 or 2 setup. its just a chip that takes in 2 pulses and puts out one pulse from the speed sensor, you can also use a unipolar hall effect device rather than a bypolar hall effect in your speed sensor. it does work I went from 12 to 21 not much power works great going down hill, also takes off regen so going down hill there is no motor breaking!!
its rather high priced put you money somewhere else.

Around $150 delivered

Speed Code 4 from CC dealer: Varies but around $100-$125

PQ Motor Around $300 delivered without core.

Just depends on what you're looking to do.

Here is a schematic, no i tapped into all three lines for power.
there is a 7805 5vdc voltage regulator, 1 cap for filtering, resistor to pull sensor high, and a 74ls390 which is a divide by chip. I used divide by 2, I prototyped it on a radio shack perf board purchased the sockets from a CC dealer (the sockets do not come with pins) and purchased them from someone else. I have drawn up the boards but may not make them I have gotten the fever and want to build a lifted cart 36 volt with 48 volts of batteries a 400 amp controller and larger tires. I also added a selector switch on mine to allow motor breaking as I live on a hill
