Default GSXR Fuel Pump in stock cart tank

I'm not familiar with the fuel pump in these bikes. I think they are inside at the bottom of the tank. Would it be possible to cut a hole in the stock golf cart tank and mount the pump inside without any leaks?

Alternativley I found a gsxr 750 gas tank on ebay with the pump for $120. I'm ok using it if I have to but wanted to see what you guys think about mounting a gsxr pump inside the carts tank.

3rdly what about using an inline electric fuel pump? Would it work? I did this with my workhorse kawasaki 750 engine swap and it worked well.

There should be room for it. Nice thing is the fuel gauge would work. I missed out on the ebay tank last night. There's other ones but not in the same condition. I am really tempted to still put the fuel pump in the golf cart tank.

Or you can go this route.

It's a 7 3/4 gallon Miller keg.

I'm trying to do the same thing with my stock tank, only thing I have come up with is a ring that goes inside the tank that the stock pump will bolt to securely and seal it all up with rtv. I found a site that sells this ring with the threaded holes already in it for about $35.....

All that you need is a cheapo regulator and a pump. Don't worry yourself with the stock pump setup.

I have a yamaha G2 and installed the pump as a clunk in the tank and ran the hose out the top of the tank vent. You could easily use an inline pump. Mount the pump below the tank if you can. Put an inline filter before the pump if you dont do an internal with the sock.

Example pump:

Example regulator with liquid filled gauge.

Set the pressure to 43.5psi. Leave the vacuum reference open, or vented to atmosphere. The gsxr uses a fixed fuel pressure.
