For grins, I climbed up there and could sit or lie down without the things falling apart at the seams. However I won't be driving around with 200#'s of dead weight up there.
My intended purpose of the cargo rack is simply to handle the cumbersome gear that seems to not have a good place to set for the ride. With that said, my purpose will be somewhere around 30#'s max. Which puts the total added weight of 70#'s over my head....which is a lot imo considering these carts really aren't designed for that purpose.

I agree, I'm always looking for a spot for climbers and blinds when I have a few people on board. Very nice idea.

Hey do you think that the roof rack would work if I were to use 2 of the rack extensions in the middle? I'm thinking about doing the 2 extensions to give the back seat some cover.

I was thinking a pop up blind, some turkey decoys, and a couple stools. Or possibly some layout blinds.

I guess after thinking about it, the weight doesn't scare me as much, as the weight shifting around while bouncing over a frozen chiseled corn field - or crossing a rocky rutted out creek bed.

I looked at that on my cart and decided against it for the following:

I have the rear seat which sits higher and the extended top would cause problems for persons in the back seat. So, to accomplish the installation of a longer rack, it would require someone to redo the support posts from the frame and really design something for that specific purpose. To me, the ends didn't justify the means.

You'd definitely be able to stack up a bunch of stuff up there to satisfy a hunting expedition! It's 6'x 3' !

However you'd have to either scrap the use of the rubber flooring for the cover or come up with a new material. I thought about welding up a thin sheet of metal instead.

I picked up one of those small cargo bungee nets to hold all things in place.

That was my concern, the lack of support to the rack on the back end. Thanks for the info!
