150 is 30 psi better than the factory. This thread just got real interesting.

Re: Polaris Piston 1986 ezgo 2pg
All I did was .020 oversize and shaved .040 off cylinder. Will borrow another gauge tomorrow to double check - mine is new. Checked with screw in gauge with WOT till needle stopped advancing?

150 lb. with new Snap On. My gauge shows 4 lb. increase after break in. (154) with break in 40:1 mix. New carb next.

Re: Polaris Piston 1986 ezgo 2pg
I know this is an old thread however I just finished with this mod tonight I figured it was worth a shot for the $20 piston. I came in at 130 psi With .007 piston to wall clearance (pretty much needs a bore job) I was just looking to get through the rest of this camping season before I punch the head out this winter. Working Great so far.

Re: Polaris Piston 1986 ezgo 2pg
Hey guys. New to the site although I have been lurking for some time. Just wondering if there are any updates on this particular subject.
Getting ready to bore the cylinder for my 88 2PG and was wondering if this is the way to go for the piston replacement or should I get the aftermarket EZGO pistons available? Thanks.... |
