I want to say they stopped using the reed switch in either 2003 or 2004.

Question for kbiedens...... You changed "everything" ...... Did that include the charger receptacle? If so you may have installed an older unit that actually does have a reed switch in it. If you are getting full voltage on Pin 4 of the J1 connector though, then either the reed switch is working properly or you don't have one installed in your cart.

If it doesn't, the pedal switch (or wiring) is bad.

If it does, and the solenoid doesn't click, the controller is probably bad.
Also in j5 ...the 3 wires coming from pedal switch I have voltage on red ...Pack volt 38 and as I push pedal I get 38 volt on green wire so I assume the pedal switch is working and the wiring is ok?

FWIW, if the F/R is in R, Pin-2 will have B+ and Pin-3 won't.
OK so test lamp in pin 6 and key on in fwd pus gas pedal and no solinoid so from what you were saying bad wiring from pedal switch and or bad switch

J5 is the three pin connector for the speed sensor, J4 is the four pin connector for the Pedal box (ITS sensor and pedal microswitch)

Could be either bad switch or bad wiring, need to troubleshoot further.

Sorry, should have said, bad pedal switch or wires, or a bad controller. I got sidetracked with the mention of checking J5.

If the red and green wire you were checking were in J4, than it appears the pedal switch is working.

Since there is voltage to the solenoid coil and the coil is intact (as evidenced by the voltage on J1 Pin-6), if you get B+ (battery pack voltage) on J4 Pin-1 when the pedal is pushed and the solenoid does not click, the controller is bad.
