Default ez go cart slows almost to a stop

My question is that Why does my cart slow almost to a stop. No particular time. It does not stop but just about and when it does this it has no torque at all. I can let off the pedal and wait just a second and it will go again. My cart is a 2003 ez go 36 volt with the forward switch on the dash. It has the breaking chip in it, has for years. I recently had issues with the controller and after the tech replace it about 3 times they found that the tow/haul switch was bad and burning up the controller. The solenoid has also been changed as well as the forward switch & the key switch. The battery pack has good voltage when this happens, even under load. Could the speed sensor be bad or the speed control sensor? This is about all that has not been changed except for the floor pedal switch. The cart runs real fast and good most of the time.
Thanks,

Yes, I guess the speed sensor could be bad.

The throttle signal wires or wire harness connector could also be the trouble spot. Only way to know is to test the signal when the cart is running normal and when it is misbehaving.

Is this a PDS cart?

I think it is. It has the switch on the dash. It has a tow / haul / run switch under the seat. Thanks for your advice.

I have noticed that this only happens if the cart is going slow. If you keep a steady quick pace it runs fine but if you slow to cross a bump or something it will go very slow until I stop, take foot off of pedal and about a minute later it runs fine again. It does not do this all the time but it will do it daily if we ride it. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks,

Put the controller into diagnostic mode, drive the cart and listen for any error code being beeped.

The text at the bottom of the attached label tells you how to get controller in diagnostic mode.

I could not get it to go into diagnostic mode. I turned on the key and went from neutral to reverse 5 times. I never heard a confirmation beep. Is there a certain time sequence I need to do to activate? Thanks for your help.

Once in diagnostic mode the controller will report the 'chip' installed, then turn the key on and drive to get any operations fault codes.
