Default 2007 ezgo gas with older 295 robin motor backfiring

backfiring popping wont rev when you drive goes real slow exhaust gets real hot

What i have done
checked compression 120 on both
did a leak down test held good on one side and leaked out of the exhaust on the other so i pulled the head sent to machine shop and put back together same issue
changed coil pulsar coil ignitor same issue
checked timing fuel cleaned carb changed muffler ran without muffler
tried different plugs
when you spray carb cleaner in the intake it bogs down so i know its getting fuel.
just lost any help would be great

Sounds like a bad coil.
Running on one cylinder and intermittently firing.
Raw fuel burning off in the exhaust.

Pull and ground one plug wire. Start and see if it runs any better.
If it doesnt start try swapping plugs wires.
OR
Take an ir thermometer and check both sides of the header right after starting and see if one side heats slower then the other.
Then shut it off and swap the plug wires. Recheck the heating. Does the problem follow.

Have seen many a new bad coil.
What did you gap your plugs at?
To wide a gap or a weak coil and it will not spark on the charged cylinder and will fire on the empty cylinder.
Have you tried another set of plugs? Or cleaned your plugs with a spark plug cleaner? Just because you put in a new set does not mean they are not fouled now.

Have you rechecked your valve clearances now that you have run it a little?

Did you try post 2?
Does the blue flame change when doing it? How hot was each manifold?
What were your plugs gaped at? How much play do the valves have?

When you had the head done did you check the cam for flat lobes? Can check valve lift and compare to see if they are the same between both cylinders.

I have the same problem with my 1998. Its been running great then out of the blue I'm driving then bam it acts like 1 cylinder goes out. I can stop a hit the pedal and it takes right off but only for about 10 feet then right back down to a crawl and backfiring again. If it cools completely off it will run for about 5 good minutes then bam back to supper slow and backfiring again.
