Default 1994 ezgo gas rear end problem

the rear tires do not turn in forward or reverse. the shaft turns by the rear flywheel going into the transmission.could this be wore out spines in the rear hubs.the cart has had a loud roaring sound for about a month.

Could be, is the nut holding the hub on the axle spinning?

to check it leave the wheels on the ground so there is resistance then check both sides to see if the axle is turning when trying to go.

The 1st thing I would do is
make sure the shift cables are actually turning the shaft going into the trans/rear end. And it is engaging the gears.

Then I would jack it up and see if the wheels will turn without a load on them.

Mark the axle nuts see if they are turning.

You said it was making a roaring noise before, that most likely would indicate a gear issue.

good luck and let us know what you find.

i got the new hub on the wheels turn now.. drives alright but now i got a new problem. the secondary clutch has a wooble in it now.the bolt come out a while back. after putting a new bolt and washer on it i noticed the wooble.a guy told me the splines were wore on the clutch and if i dont replace it the bolt could break off into the shaft.thats about $200. any thoughts

*sometimes* the clutch will shift a bit on the shaft if the bolt falls out, I would try pulling the clutch off and rotating it 45 degrees or so then tighten it down again, chances are if the shaft and/or clutch aren't *too* damaged it just may center itself up again and be fine as long as You keep a bolt in there, LOL
