1990 Marathon stopped sparking
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it as we do!! So our Marathon has had the HEI conversion now for about 10 years or so and the two stroke has been running like champ........ Until a coupled days ago she took off running as usual and then stated buckin a little and finally coasted to stop. So in checking various things I went ahead and replaced the Spark plug, HEI unit just in case as well as put on a new oil filled coil. Still no spark. Motors spins nicely but no spark. So to my question. I checked the pulsar ohms and get a good 136 ohms which as I understand should be good. In checking the red-blue wire for voltage when spinning I am only getting around .15-.19 volt which as I understand may be a little lower than the expected .50 volt. Could this be to low to trigger my HEI unit?? What do you think? Or am I missing something? I can touch my negative coil to ground and see a spark at the plug so I think that part may be okay. Thought appreciated. Thanks!!
