Default 48v trans 2 (GEM) golf cart

I need help installing 4 12v batteries to my cart. The guy didnt know how they go back in. I want to test the cart out with 4 12v before buying 6 8v batteries. The motor is good just dont know what else is. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

All the cables are labeled i just dont know what battery they go to

I think we are a little short of the big picture. Originally 6/8v were wired in series. Your 4/12v would also wire in series. Series wiring is + to - all way through the pack leaving one + and one - at the ends of the pack where the cart drive system connects.

Warnings:
3 car batteries will not run this cart. They may make it operate on jack stands with not real load. Caution do not fully rev up the cart on jacks as damage may occur to the motor and self.

There is 2 battery treys under the front hood and 2 under the seat

I thibk this little blue thing used to be a key switch. Can i rig up a toggle switch instead

It is a 1996 trans 2 48v . Its a gem car but before it was called that
