1990 ezgo gas charging system
Hello all,
I have to keep charging my battery. i dont know how to test the charging system. what is the best way to test it please? i would like to find out if its the charging system or the battery causing the problem. i dont want to just start replacing stuff. thanks in advance, Dave |

Put it up on blocks.
Put a meter on your battery terminals. Full static charge is 12.7 volts. Start it up. Voltage should increase with speed. 14-15 volts. If it doesn't increase, There is a small green wire that goes from the starter to the voltage regulator. Remove it from the voltage regulator, and ground it out. Rev the engine again. If the voltage increases to 15+ volts, you need a new regulator. All measurements are taken at the battery terminals. |
