Newbie and a first restoration
Hi all,
As the title says I am new to the golf cart world. I am mechanically inclined but have never dealt with these things. Over the weekend I obtained the 1995 Club Car DS (at least that is what the serial number says) pictured below. They said it ran when they parked it but hadn't been moved in about 5 years. I have looked it over pretty well and everything is in tact with the exception of a few broken wire terminations that need redone, but all in all a decently clean cart. No broken plastic or torn seats. I have read most of the stickies but any other advise would help. Thanks Before clean up IMG_0488.jpg All Cleaned up IMG_0489.jpg Batteries as they were. DUDE!!! Looks like you found a diamond in the rough compared to some of the "field finds" or,,, uhh,,,"piles," that start their second life here!!! Keep us posted on your discoveries as you dig in. You have a LOT of GOOD help here and "great" ideas for your project.

Re: Newbie and a first restoration
Thanks! Got a little done this evening... stripped the roof, seats and body panels away... this is not good for me as I am the type of person that wants to clean everything then put back new everything to make it look good... I have already found a need for new shock bushings and steering linkage boots... I have to stop somewhere ...

Re: Newbie and a first restoration
If I didn't know the guy I bought it from I would have thought so... they bought the cart for his uncle who passed a few years ago and parked the cart after that ... It has just been settin... I was amazed that three of the **** tires still hold air even though they are dry rotted to hell... I can see it will need a new cable set and some wire connects redone before I can start analyzing any other issues... wish me luck!!!

Re: Newbie and a first restoration
I'm no expert but for $300 I think you got a steal. That's a great base for a project cart or just clean it up and enjoy as is. Be aware, if you start to mod it's hard to stop.
