Default Club Car for Dummies?

Hey all....new to the forum.
Let me start by saying the only thing I know about electricity is that when I turn the switch...the lights come on. So, I upgraded from an EZGO 36V to a Club 48V a couple years ago....
I'll try to keep the post short.
After 6 months of having the cart the battery light started to come on after a mile or so of riding so I took to local cart shop and they sold me new batteries and they said the charger was bad....so add another $300.
For about a month she rode great but now the cart studders bad, its slower than my 36V was, barely can make it a mile now without dying on me. It has stranded my wife and 2 kids twice since November.
I cant honk the horn if the "pedal is to the medal" so I have to let off just to get the horn to work even after being on charger for 24 hrs.

I am at a loss of what to do. I would like to try and figure this out on my own but don't know where to start. Any suggestions???

Wow, sounds like a battery and/or charger issue from reading your post. How often do you charge the battery's?

Does your new charger have an amp gauge and what does it do when you first plug it in, and while it is charging?

Do you have access to a volt meter and can you check or get help in determining your battery voltages? Each battery, and the total pack voltage.

Let us know the answers to these questions and we can provide more assistance.

Well, at first I would put it on charger after a couple of rides through town....roughly 5 miles. It got to the point where I would have to put it on the charger after every ride (2miles)
When I plug in the charger the amp gauge doesn't do anything for about 5 seconds and then it shoots over to the right sight and I can hear it charging. I don't have a volt meter but I can sure get one. I'll stop by store today and get one....

I know this sounds kind of basic...did you check the new charger to be sure it was 48v ? Second-have you reset the OBC?

Did the dealer not warrant batteries and charger?
Have you spoke with dealer about your problem?

And then how long does it charge for? With a completely drained battery it should charge for 5,6 hours or more. What brand of batteries do you have?

How about some information and some pictures?

- What model CC is it (what is the serial number)?
- What batteries does it have?
- Is it a standard cart or has it been modified?
- Post a picture of your charger.
- Post a list of the voltages on each battery and the whole pack before and after charging.

The batteries are numbered as shown in this diagram.
