1997 Cushman Rescue
So I bought a 1997 Cushman Turf (model 898360A) because I thought it might be a fun rescue. It is in BAD shape. Water in oil, completely rusted front frame, hole in Radiator and I'm sure much more. I have quickly discovered parts are pretty hard to get at a reasonable price... if you can find them at all. I had hoped I could find one to part out but there are so few of them available I hate to loose another one (not to mention the cool factor it has... ) Anyone have any experiences they can share? Ideas, thoughts, suggestions?
I didn't see a "Cushman" thread so I went to the next closest thing with "EZGO Gas" thread. |

Yeah, it looks like its seen better days. It'll sure be nice once its all fixed up though. This is the right place to come for help. The knowledge here is incredible and someone will surely know where you can source some parts.

Depends on how far you are willing to go. I have multiple versions of yours. Some are better than others. Your engine looks rough and can be expensive to fix. It Is a model of Daihatsu. Turfspray@aol.com if you are still interested to go farther.

Re: 1997 Cushman Rescue
I bought a 2nd one that has a solid frame. The first one is a 2 seater and the the 2nd is a one seater. I have started to use the first one for parts. I hope I can switch the cab over. The Dihatsu on the 2nd one runs ok but I have to use starting fluid to start it.

Re: 1997 Cushman Rescue
The Cab should move with out too much trouble. The shifter on the one seater has a straight bar and the shifter on the two is bent to clear. If the fuel pump on the Daihatsu does not work, just wire in a cheap electric fuel pump. The Daihatsu uses a fuel shut off solenoid either at the bottom of the fuel bowl(old style) or on top (newer style). Check there for fuel as well as the bowl. You can take the top off without removing the carb. Whatever you do, be dainty with the carb. Big money if you can find the parts. If you ned something, send me a picture of the engine and carb or other parts. I have a few of these for parts.

Re: 1997 Cushman Rescue
Awesome! Thanks so much. Ive been kind of paranoid to pull too much off that I may break something I can't replace...

Move slow, if something does not come apart, ask. You are right about some hard to find parts
