EZGO 2Five vs my old TXT. My review
My neighbor bought a new EZGO 2Five for about $11,000 Same $ I paid for a new Toyota 4WD truck in 1986 but that's another conversation.
Neither one of us golf and use our carts to shuttle the kids to school and cruise around the neighborhood. The 2Five is street legal. Mine is not. I'm not too worried as I haven't seen any law enforcement around my house in years. The 2Five is 48V with 4.4 HP. My cart is 48V with an 8HP B2 motor. I took the 2Five for a drive. First thing I noticed was how smooth the entire drive train is. It's like driving a small car with no doors. The brakes are really strong. Acceleration is good but it will NOT go faster than 25MPH. I mapped out a short course with a hilly start and flat finish. The 2Five reached 23mph and I did 21MPH. Did a high speed run and I did 27MPH and he did 25. I'm no expert but I thought I could at least keep up with him on the hills. His cart has to weigh more than mine. It has a huge glass windshield and what looks like to be a full roll cage. I have 2 more batteries so that prob evens out the weight. My tires are low profile 19" so I guess that could make a difference but not much. His batteries are newer but mine usually show 50+Volts. I still like mine better. I've modified it myself and learned along the way how everything works. I'll figure out a way to get to 24MPH on the road course. |

I am with you !
I have always enjoyed not only the build, (and often re-build) process. But also enjoy having what “I built” to zip around our little corner of the world ! |

Good review.
I have a 2Five and like it. Where I drive I HAVE to have 17 digit VIN and tags, otherwise I too would have been perfectly happy with building my own cart. I don't think E-Z-GO sell many 2Fives to people that don't need to register them as LSV's |

I can program a 2Five to go 35 MPH. Not exactly legal, but it's built to handle it quite well. LOL

Im sure it could handle 35mph easy. It feels really solid and well built.

It would require the controller to be removed and mailed to me. I would reprogram it and mail it back...
