It is called a Regen Diode and its purpose is to prevent the controller from being hit with an abnormally high voltage if the solenoid de-energizes while regen braking is occurring. |

What was the purpose of the 250 ohm resistor on the old solenoid?

This task is done via J1 Pin-5 on the XCT. |

Do I need a diode across the small (coil) terminals on the solenoid? All of the wiring diagrams show a MR754 diode. I didn’t have one before and I don’t have one to put there?

Got it all correct the first time.....Ran good.
Scottyb I do have a question. Is the new Alltrax controller pre programed for the ML3 switch? I tried all three positions and the top speed is the same with all three. 28.4 mph. It doesn't appear that it got programed prior to sending to me. How do I get the program so I can program it myself? |

I do not have any experience doing this. On their website it says it would be programed prior to shipping.
I am sure I can figure it out is I can get the program to load on my laptop. |

The top speed of 28.4 MPH is a combination of what the max motor RPM is set for in the XCT, the gear ratio in the differential and the tire height.
Scotty probably set the XCT for a 6000RPM max and unless you've changed the stock gears, they are 12.44:1, so your tires are about 21.5" tall, but they look like off-road tires, so they might be a bit taller. What is your tire height? ---------- After you get Toolkit loaded on your laptop, keep it connected while driving cart and save a datalog as a .csv file (comma separated values), zip it and attach it to a post. I'd love to see how a B2 motor performs. |

the tires are 23".
The problem I have is that all three switch positions on the ML3 give me the same result. |
