The 12v plastic tray can't be modified for 8s , but several replacement trays are available.

So what’s the consensus 4x Trojan 1275 or 6x8v? Catechism I read you recommended the 6x8 and tray conversion but to me it’s a lot of extra costs to go that way. If I can unload the current batteries a local dealer said he’d sell me the Trojan 1275 for $140 something each and $22 core charge ea unless I can find and bring him some deep cycles. He said the 8v were between 130 for crown and 116 for Trojan. So the 6x8s plus other stuff for conversation adds up in comparison.

If converting, I suggest the steel tray, not aluminum (from Ezgo, or aftermarket). If buying Trojan, be sure to get T-875 or better, not the lower rated "DC 8v" version.

But, that is a real good price on T-1275 (make sure they aren't the lower rated T-1260).

A few accomplishments...

New bottom seat skin and cleaned up handles as well as painting the front cowl.

I ordered an aluminum tray for the 8v conversion and took it to a local fabricator and they copied it and made one out of stainless steel for $100.

Rear body painted and what a pain in the butt! Found someone that sells them already painted for $350 would have gone this route had I known.

Frame is at sandblaster hope to get it back next week...
