Default 93 Marathon Takes off in F and R like a bat outta hell!

Good evening great forum!
I have a 93 Marathon with new batteries, FNR, pot, refurbished controller, new cables throughout, OLD solenoid——-in F and R it takes off like a bat outta hell, please help.

Are you saying it goes to wide open just slightly pressing it? Please describe.

And make sure your rear wheels are jacked up OFF THE GROUND.

Yes, It goes wide open when slightly pressing it...yes, on jack stands! I’ve watched the forum and know better

OK. Hook your DVM to the black and white wires coming from the pot (either way). Set your meter to 20K ohms. Meter should go from about zero to about 5000 ohms while slowly pressing pedal down.

Do this test and report back to us.

And be sure to do the test on the wires with them disconnected from the controller. The readings will be of no value when plugged into the controller (and could damage your volt/ohm meter)
