36v DCS Sepex - xct & bandit - slow
I just installed my xct500 along with a plum quick bandit motor with 2g cables. I can honestly say I don't see much difference at all in speed or even torque. The cart has 22" tires on it and the batteries are fully charged at 38v. I will attach a log file of a run just a few minutes ago. I have the controller setup for max battery and motor amps at 500 and forward speed is at 100%.
The log file only shows the motor and battery current at around 120amps and I am assuming this isn't normal as I set it to 500... Any ideas? See attached log file and field map pic |

What are your settings on the throttle tab?

Re: 36v DCS Sepex - xct & bandit - slow
Please select the "Continuous" sample rate for the data log. The 1 second rate is too slow to see rapid changes.
The Max Motoring Armature Amps needs to be turned up to 500A also. (Should be same or more than Max Motoring Battery Amps) Pack voltage starts at 38.4V and drops to 32.7V with 190.7A being drawn, so the battery pack is dropping 5.7V or about 3V/100A. Might be some battery issues or excessive resistance in the high current path. Check the stacking order of the ring terminals on batteries and solenoid. Heaviest cable goes on first. Max Battery amps is 192.6A while Max Armature amps is 188.5A. Armature amps are typically higher than Battery amps when throttle is less than 100%. Is the high current cable going to A2 on the motor connected the solenoid's controller side large terminal or the controller's B+ terminal? Is there a precharge resistor installed on the solenoid? What is the max inflation pressure stamped on the sidewalls of the 22" tall tires? Check with PQ and Alltrax to see if tere is a better field map for a Bandit turning oversized tires. (Filed weakening is only going down to 4.2A, going lower will up top speed.) |

Re: 36v DCS Sepex - xct & bandit - slow
New log file attached and I changed the amps to 500. I double checked the terminals to ensure heavy cable goes on first. I attached a picture of the controller and solenoid wiring just to see if anyone sees anything obviously wrong. Excuse the electrical tape, I ran out of smaller sized heat shrink tubing.
See resistors in pic with both stripe ends going towards battery side of solenoid. Tires are stamped 20psi and I added a little air to get them to 20. I'm hoping to hear back from Alltrax tomorrow, but something still seems wrong. |

Re: 36v DCS Sepex - xct & bandit - slow
You have the two diodes installed correctly.
I don't see anything in the wiring that would reduce performance. The data log is better. Now getting the armature to draw about 60A more than before. Maybe Alltrax can see something in this data log that I don't I'm curious as to why the Armature amps are higher than the Battery amps when throttle is less than 100%. |

Re: 36v DCS Sepex - xct & bandit - slow
The only other change that I made was to install a rocker switch for F/R and remove the lever and disc. I don't think this would relate to my issues, but I wanted to make note of it.
Are there any other tests that I can do to help narrow down my problem? |

Re: 36v DCS Sepex - xct & bandit - slow
Since my controller thinks I am getting 100% throttle, then I can assume there is no reason to investigate ITS....right?
