Starter/generator temperature
I’m doing a follow up post from last year . I’ve been having started/generator issues. I’ve recently had a new one installed from local shop . I’ve ran the car a few hours without issues , my concern is the starter generator is still getting hot . I checked it at a half hour and it was warm. I checked it at an hour and the starter generator is hot , I can touch it without getting burnt but if I was to leave my hand on it more then a few seconds I’d probably burn my hand . I’ve called a few different shops and was informed it shouldn’t get hot . I was just inquiring to see others opinions ?

Re: Starter/generator temperature
If you are running for an hour, and can still touch it, I would say that's pretty good. It's attached to an engine that's putting out a lot of heat.
