Gas Yamaha 90’s won’t go forward
Our gas Yamaha won’t drive forwards. Reverse works. Not sure if it is transmission or rear end. Unsure on the year of the cart. We thought 90’s from serial number. Any advice?

Re: Gas Yamaha 90’s won’t go forward
Broken shift cable? What have you checked? Where have you looked for a SN? What color is the steering wheel & column? How exactly does the seat open (be specific as possible)? How exactly are your cupholders configured & how many? These last 5 questions will help me identify your cart.

Re: Gas Yamaha 90’s won’t go forward
It's either a broken/unhooked shift cable or something inside the trans. The rear end would be part of the trans, but that's the differential part, wouldn't be that. Unless it's a G1, in that case it wouldn't be a 90's vintage cart. G1 is a two stroke and doesn't use any gearing for reverse, the engine actually spins backwards. I suppose it could be a Sun Classic.
