Default Broken Heat Sheild (again) on '07 Drive

Heat sheild has separated from the muffler on 3 out of 4 welds/connections - ie its more than just the split case welds. I have done tack welding on the case and the ears that I can reach now 2 previous times. I could split the sheild in half to get at all the ears to reweld, but am wondering if there might be a better solution overall. I believe I read somewhere comments discussing a 'design issue' ?

Has anyone come up with something better as an alternate - such as header tape, or similar ?

Thanks is advance for any comments or suggestions you have.

Yamaha doesnt offer that muffler anymore, they've updated to a completely different design.

Heres the PN for the new version. GCA-JW8E4-71-00

Thank you CGTech.

I ended up splitting the sheild away from the muffler, then re-welding all 4 ears, then re attaching the sheild. This will be the last time - I think I will opt for the 'new and improved' version.

Thanks again
