Default 95 medalist stop working

Need some help, my son was driving the cart last night and it died on him. The cart clicks when the pedal is pressed and in forward or reverse. I searched the threads the best I could and came across Johnnyb’s test on this issue. The batteries are fully charged and read 40 volts, I placed my volt meter on M- and B- and do not get the full battery voltage when the pedal pressed. I am new to this game, so can someone explain what my next steps should be. I read it can be and open high current cable, connection or contact. Where is this contact and or cables? Please excuse my ignorance on this matter.

Thanks in advance,
Eddie

Is it a series drive or a DCS drive?

If it has a Run/Tow switch on the controller cover, it is a DCS.

The cables are the thick ones that connect the batteries together and to the controller and motor and F/R switch if it is a series drive.

Contacts are located in the solenoid and F/R switch.

Connections are were the cables connect to whatever they connect to.

Attached is a schematic of a series drive with the high current cables highlighted.

Thanks Jonny for the response. Should I check continuity or voltage at these contacts?

You can check voltages without having to disconnect things, and you can get good continuity readings on stuff that won't pass enough amps to make a cart move.

Thanks JonnieB for all your help on this. After taking a closer look at it this morning I found that the B cable on the F/R switch had what looks like a short of some sort and burnt off from the terminal at the solder point.

Several hundred amps flow through the cables, so if the cable ends are corroded, they will burn in two.
