front end
Has anyone compared the front end mounting of a g1 to the g2. considering an independant front end and wondering if the jakes could be adapted to the g1 chassis. has anyone tried this.

Re: front end
When I built my atv front suspension setup, I considered buying a Jakes for a G2/G9 and modifying it to fit. In my consideration I noted that the Jakes kit was expensive, I was going to have to cut and weld it to make it fit, it still used the wonky G1 stock steering. So I decided to make my own instead, way easier and way better in the end. I used an atv front suspension, a dune buggy rack and pinion steering, heim joint tie rods, an ezgo steering column, and it was flawless! Plus it had outstanding hydraulic front disc brakes.
So to answer your question: yes they are very similar but they won't bolt in, it will have to be cut, modified, welded to make it fit. If I could do it all over again, I would do a few things differently. |
